“Thank you to all zakat contributors who helped Mak Cik build a new home. This has always been our family’s dream,” shared Mak Cik Rafidah with heartfelt gratitude upon receiving the keys to her new home, made possible through the assistance of Zakat Selangor.
The newly constructed house replaces her previous residence, which was unsafe and in a state of severe disrepair. The handover ceremony was officiated by YDH ACP Norhizam bin Bahaman, District Police Chief of Sepang, and attended by the Penghulu Mukim Sepang, the Officer-in-Charge of Sungai Pelek Police Station, as well as Zakat Selangor’s officers and representatives from local authorities, reflecting strong collaboration in supporting community wellbeing.
For Mak Cik Rafidah and her family, this home represents more than shelter. It brings renewed hope, safety, and the comfort they have long awaited, a foundation for a more secure and dignified life.
This initiative stands as clear evidence that zakat, when channelled through authorised amil institutions, can uplift the lives of asnaf in a structured, effective and sustainable manner.
To all zakat contributors – you are the true heroes behind every smile of the asnaf.
