Zakat Selangor Peduli: LZS Distributes 120 Food Baskets in Collaboration with Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD Shah Alam)

SHAH ALAM, 23 July 2021 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) today handed over zakat aid in the form of 120 food baskets allocated under the Zakat Selangor Peduli assistance initiative, to be distributed to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through collaboration with the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD Shah Alam).

The handover of the food baskets was officiated by LZS Chief Executive Officer, Saipolyazan M. Yusop, to the Officer-in-Charge of Sri Muda Police Station, Inspector Mohammad Firdaus Mohd Khairi, at a handover ceremony held here.

The assistance forms part of a total of 1,000 food baskets distributed through District Police Headquarters (IPD) to individuals who have been identified as experiencing food shortages, based on information obtained from various parties.

Each basket, valued at RM100, contains basic food necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, canned sardines, and various dry food items.

For information, LZS has allocated a total of 26,350 food baskets under the Zakat Selangor Peduli assistance initiative for affected groups, including asnaf. On 2 July, LZS announced an allocation of RM69.3 million to implement 19 Zakat Selangor Peduli assistance initiatives, benefiting 59,322 recipients and 431 institutions in Selangor.
