Zakat Selangor Carnival 2025 Officially Launched, LZS Rolls Out “Impak Dirasa” Campaign
SHAH ALAM, 29 November 2025 – The Zakat Selangor Carnival 2025 reached its climax today with the official launch by Board of Trustees member of Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS), Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Uda, who also launched the “Impak Dirasa” Campaign, LZS’s year-end initiative to encourage Muslims to pay zakat before the end of 2025.
The ceremony, held at Dewan Raja Muda Musa, was the main event of the three-day carnival which started on 27 November, featuring over 150 exhibitors from government agencies, private sectors, and local entrepreneurs. The opening ceremony was also enlivened by the participation of more than 1,000 participants in the Zakat Selangor Run.
LZS Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Khaidzir Shahari, said the launch of the Impak Dirasa campaign highlights that the benefits of zakat are not only seen but also felt by asnaf, the community, and zakat payers. He noted that the campaign is designed to invite and remind the public to fulfill their zakat obligations on time, especially as the year draws to a close.
He added that LZS currently assists more than 75,000 asnaf families through various forms of aid covering basic necessities, education, medical support, welfare, and economic empowerment. “The community’s commitment to paying zakat ensures the continuity of life for asnaf families in Selangor,” he said.
The Impak Dirasa campaign, running from 1 October to 31 December 2025, carries the message “Sentiasa Bersama, Sentiasa Menjaga” (“Always Together, Always Caring”) as a symbol of LZS’s continuous support to asnaf and muzakki, while facilitating zakat payments through digital platforms, branch services, and community programs.
Simultaneously with the launch of Impak Dirasa, LZS also activated the special campaign “Rezeki Dikongsi – Impak Dirasa” from 27 November to 31 December 2025. Zakat payers during this period have the chance to win exciting prizes, including Umrah packages, Honda RS-X Winner motorcycles, Wave Alpha motorcycles, and shopping vouchers through a special year-end draw.
Meanwhile, Zakat Selangor Carnival 2025 serves as a main platform for LZS to bring services closer to the community. In addition to introducing the roles, aid, and initiatives of zakat, the carnival allows visitors to interact directly with LZS officers and gain information about zakat programs throughout the year. Key highlights include i-Kerjaya, which offers over 1,500 job opportunities from 20 employers to help asnaf, poor, and new converts obtain more stable and suitable careers.
The carnival is also enlivened with various community and family activities such as Jualan Rahmah, food trucks, coloring competitions, traditional games, silat demonstrations, nasyid performances, zakat service exhibitions, and more. Today’s opening ceremony also witnessed several companies handing over their corporate zakat contributions to LZS.
Also present were Board of Trustees member Datin Paduka Badariah Abdul Jalil, Chief Operating Officer Ahmad Fadhil Hassan, and Chief Finance and IT Officer Rapizah Muhammad Sharif.
Entering its 9th edition, the program has become an important annual platform that unites JAWHAR, State Islamic Religious Councils, and zakat management agencies nationwide in strengthening strategic cooperation and sharing experiences.
The convoy involved 200 participants and 60 vehicles, demonstrating strong collaboration between the Federal and State Governments in empowering zakat institutions in Malaysia.
This year, MAINJ, as the host, brought over 200 participants from various agencies with 60 vehicles touring two main districts, Pontian and Batu Pahat, to assist asnaf through various welfare and development programs.
To support this program, LZS contributed RM6,000 for a sub-program on permanent project development during KZK 2025.
Through this strategic collaboration, KZK 2025 sends a clear message to the public that zakat is not merely an obligation but a shared trust in developing the ummah in Selangor and across the nation.
