SHAH ALAM, 20 December 2021 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) today contributed funds to support the Tahfiz Maahad Regularization Program, involving a zakat allocation of RM3,350,000 under the Zakat Selangor Cares (ZSP) initiative.
The symbolic handover of ZSP assistance for the Selangor Tahfiz Maahad Regularization Program was officiated by LZS Board of Trustees member, Prof. Madya Dr. Khadijah Mohd Khambali@Hambali, to the Director of JAIS, Dato’ Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad.
The ZSP contribution was provided to assist 350 Tahfiz Maahad under the Selangor State Quranic Tahfiz Institutions Association (PITAS) that require financial support to cover the costs of preparing Planning Permission and Building Plan documents, as well as related fees.
Through this ZSP contribution, the burden on the Tahfiz Maahad operators is alleviated, enabling them to operate in accordance with the Private Religious School (Tahfiz Institution) Regularization Guidelines of Selangor.
For information, on 2 July, LZS announced an allocation of RM69.3 million under ZSP to distribute targeted zakat aid aimed at supporting asnaf and the B40 group affected by the COVID-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0.
A total of 19 ZSP assistance initiatives were provided, benefiting 59,322 recipients and 431 institutions in Selangor.
