SHAH ALAM, 1 July 2025 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) opened applications for the Selangor Muzakki Children Education Contribution (SIDDIK) phase two from 1 to 31 July 2025, as an appreciation to muzakki (zakat payers) who had paid zakat on wealth in 2024.
SIDDIK is an LZS initiative to support the education of muzakki children through a savings contribution of RM100 per child, given once within the year of application to children aged 7 to 17 studying at recognized educational institutions in the country.
It not only aims to support the educational needs of muzakki children but also encourages continuous financial planning among zakat-paying families.
For information, SIDDIK phase two is open to muzakki who have paid zakat on wealth amounting between RM500 and RM5,000 during October to December 2024. Only zakat on wealth is considered for eligibility, while zakat fitrah is excluded from the calculation.
Applications can be made in the following year after zakat payment is completed. Therefore, for zakat paid in 2024, participation is only allowed in 2025.
