Selangor Zakat Carnival 2025 Officially Launched, LZS Introduces the ‘Impak Dirasa’ Campaign.

SHAH ALAM, 29 November 2025 – The Selangor Zakat Carnival 2025 reached its culmination today with its official inauguration by Member of the Board of Trustees of Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS), Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Uda, who also launched the Impak Dirasa Campaign, LZS’s year-end initiative aimed at encouraging Muslims to fulfil their zakat obligations before the close of 2025.

Held at Dewan Raja Muda Musa, the ceremony marked the highlight of the three-day carnival that commenced on 27 November, featuring the participation of more than 150 exhibitors from government agencies, private organisations and local entrepreneurs. The opening ceremony was further enlivened by the involvement of over 1,000 participants in the Zakat Selangor Run.

Chief Executive Officer of LZS, Mohd Khaidzir Shahari, said that the launch of the Impak Dirasa campaign underscores the message that the benefits of zakat are not only visible, but also deeply felt by asnaf, the wider community and zakat contributors. He explained that the campaign is driven to invite and raise public awareness on the importance of fulfilling zakat obligations in a timely manner, particularly towards the year end.

He added that LZS currently supports more than 75,000 underprivileged families classified as poor and needy through various forms of assistance, including basic necessities, education, medical care, welfare support and economic empowerment programmes. “The community’s commitment to paying zakat ensures the continuity of life and well-being for asnaf families in Selangor,” he said.

The Impak Dirasa Campaign, which runs from 1 October to 31 December 2025, carries the message “Always Together, Always Caring”, symbolising LZS’s continuous support for both asnaf and zakat payers (muzakki). The campaign also facilitates zakat payments through digital platforms, branch services and community programmes.

In conjunction with the launch of Impak Dirasa, LZS also activated a Special Campaign titled “Rezeki Dikongsi – Impak Dirasa” from 27 November to 31 December 2025. Zakat contributors during this period stand a chance to win attractive prizes, including an Umrah package, a Honda RS-X Winner motorcycle, a Wave Alpha motorcycle and shopping vouchers through a special year-end draw.

Meanwhile, the Selangor Zakat Carnival 2025 serves as LZS’s primary platform to bring its services closer to the community. In addition to introducing zakat roles, assistance and initiatives, the carnival provides opportunities for visitors to interact directly with LZS officers and obtain information on zakat programmes offered throughout the year. One of the key highlights is i-Kerjaya, which offers more than 1,500 job opportunities from 20 employers to assist poor, needy and convert (mualaf) asnaf in securing more stable and suitable employment.

The Selangor Zakat Carnival was further enlivened with a wide range of community and family-oriented activities, including Rahmah sales, food trucks, colouring competitions, traditional sports, silat demonstrations, nasyid performances, zakat service exhibitions and many others. Today’s opening ceremony also witnessed several companies presenting their business zakat contributions to LZS.

Also in attendance were Member of the LZS Board of Trustees Datin Paduka Badariah Abdul Jalil, LZS Chief Operating Officer Ahmad Fadhil Hassan, and LZS Chief Financial and Information Technology Officer Rapizah Muhammad Sharif.
