SHAH ALAM, 30 November 2023 – Over 150 representatives from companies registered as vendors with Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) expressed their support for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in combating corruption by demonstrating their commitment through the signing of the Anti-Corruption Pledge (IBR) here today.
The IBR is part of LZS’s efforts to further enhance integrity among registered vendors, ensuring they remain committed to carrying out the trust and responsibilities entrusted by LZS while avoiding any form of corruption.
The pledge recital was led by LZS vendor representative, Mohd Pouzi Cik Nik from Jakel Properties Sdn. Bhd., followed by the signing ceremony witnessed by the Selangor State MACC Director, Dato’ Alias Salim, and LZS Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini.
For information, this IBR is the second series conducted after a similar ceremony was held with LZS staff last year.
To strengthen the anti-corruption commitment, LZS actively enhances its governance, particularly in procurement processes including tenders, by providing vendors with exposure to the MACC Act 2009 and emphasizing LZS’s anti-corruption policies.
To date, there are 2,280 registered vendors, and LZS aims for all vendors to sign this IBR. This target aligns with the requirements of MS ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System, which LZS successfully obtained in November 2022.
Also present at the event were LZS Chief Corporate and Special Projects Officer, Ariffa Ariffin, and LZS Chief Financial Officer, Rapizah Muhammad Sharif.
