SHAH ALAM, 27 December 2021 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) today received business zakat from 46 companies totaling RM6,815,747.73 during a ceremony held at Wisma PKPS here.

Radicare (M) Sdn. Bhd. led the list of contributors, paying zakat of RM984,122.00, followed by SIRIM Qas International Sdn. Bhd. with RM943,149.46, and KDEB Waste Management Sdn. Bhd. contributing RM531,498.05.

Other companies that contributed included Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (RM496,078.31), Selia Selenggara Selatan Sdn. Bhd. (RM440,811.00), Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (RM439,963.00), and Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad (RM405,000.00).

During the same event, LZS also distributed various zakat assistance to individuals and associations totaling RM976,303.86.

The Selangor State Quranic Tahfiz Institutions Association (PITAS) received RM853,303.86 under the Tahfiz Maahad Debt Assistance program. Mohammad Nazri Sudinan, a registered asnaf miskin, received RM93,000.00 for house construction, while Idris Abdul Hamid@Alias Yatim received RM30,000.00 in medical aid.

Additionally, two individuals received LZS Higher Education Scholarships (Dermasiswa): Aziemah Abdul Aziz received RM15,120.00 to pursue civil engineering at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and Nazlifa Fisyabillah Noorazman received RM12,394.60 to study medicine at Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Also present at the ceremony were Dato’ Seri Utama Diraja Mufti Selangor, Dato’ Dr. Anhar Opir, LZS Board of Trustees member Dato’ Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdullah, and LZS Chief Executive Officer, Saipolyazan M. Yusop.
