SHAH ALAM, 17 February 2025 – The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) continues to strengthen its international reputation by receiving the 2025 Cambridge Islamic Funds Awards (CIFA 2025) in the category of **Best Islamic Institution for Humanitarian and Relief Causes in Malaysia.

The prestigious award, organized by Cambridge International Financial Advisory, United Kingdom, recognizes LZS’s efficiency in managing zakat funds transparently, effectively, and with high impact, particularly in empowering the asnaf group and supporting communities in need.

According to LZS’s Chief Corporate & Special Projects Officer, Ariffa Ariffin, this recognition reflects the public’s trust in LZS’s capability and integrity in zakat management.

“This recognition proves that LZS’s integrated and strategic approach in managing and distributing zakat is not only acknowledged nationally but also attracts international attention. It serves as a catalyst for us to continue supporting the ummah with full commitment, integrity, and professionalism,” she said.

LZS was selected for the award based on key criteria including Shariah compliance, consistent performance in zakat management, innovation in Islamic asset management, ethical governance, and robust risk management practices.

CIFA is a global platform that recognizes Islamic financial institutions demonstrating excellence in management and social impact in accordance with Shariah principles.

In 2024, LZS made its own history by becoming the first zakat institution in Malaysia to publish a Sustainability Report, and was also named Organization of the Year (Zakat Management) at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2024.
