SHAH ALAM, 24 February 2022 – His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, today graciously received business zakat from eight corporate companies and income zakat from five individual zakat payers to the Selangor Zakat Board (Lembaga Zakat Selangor, LZS), totaling RM26,638,614.06, in a ceremony held at Istana Bukit Kayangan here.
Central Sugars Refinery Sdn. Bhd., represented by its Chief Executive Officer Mohd Zuki Wan Abdullah, contributed business zakat of RM3,910,489.00, followed by DRB-Hicom Berhad, represented by its Chairman Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, with business zakat of RM2,500,000.00, and SIRIM Berhad, represented by its Chairman Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajudin Ali, with RM2,062,761.00.
Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS), represented by Assistant General Manager of the Concession and Upstream Activities Division, Mohammad Kasuma Mohd Said, contributed RM1,731,056.92 in business zakat. This was followed by Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd., represented by its Managing Director Shairan Huzani Husain, with RM1,405,274.45, and Grand Teknik Bina Sdn. Bhd., represented by Managing Director Dato’ Ir Abdul Manap Hanafi, with RM1,372,435.39.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd., represented by Managing Director Dato’ Iskandar Mizal Mahmood, contributed RM1,330,000.00 in business zakat, while QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd., represented by Acting Head of Shariah Department Hayazi Darus, contributed RM1,210,740.00.
Meanwhile, five individuals also fulfilled their income zakat obligations, contributing a total of RM11,115,857.30. They are Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Nazri Khan Adam, Dato’ Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal, Dato’ Abdullah Abdul Mannan, and Dato Seri Mohamed Rafik Mohd Idris.
The zakat handover ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of LZS, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Syed Putra Jamalullail, and Chief Executive Officer of LZS, Saipolyazan M. Yusop.
