SHAH ALAM, 4 September 2021 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS), in collaboration with the zakat-producing company Richwork International Sdn Bhd, today distributed 250 food baskets to asnaf fakir and poor families at Flat PKNS, Section 7, Shah Alam.
The contribution was distributed through the Richwell Welfare Organization by its Vice President, Suley Nordyana Yahya. Also present at the handover was LZS Chief Executive Officer, Saipolyazan M. Yusop.
Each basket, valued at RM120.00, contains basic food necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, sardines, potatoes, onions, spices, and various other dry goods from local brands.
This donation is part of LZS’s on-the-ground activities with corporate partners, providing an opportunity to personally engage with the asnaf community in Selangor. It also helps strengthen the relationship between zakat contributors and recipients.
For information, in addition to corporate contributions, LZS has allocated 26,350 food baskets through the Zakat Selangor Cares initiative for affected groups, including asnaf. On 2 July, LZS announced an allocation of RM69.3 million to implement 19 Zakat Selangor Cares assistance initiatives, benefiting 59,322 recipients and 431 institutions in Selangor.
Also present was the Head of Asnaf Distribution Operations Division, Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini.
