SHAH ALAM, 23 June 2022 – The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) today launched the Zakat Assessment Month (BTZ) campaign to encourage the public to calculate their own zakat obligations. The launch ceremony was officiated by LZS Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Syed Putra Jamalullail.

With the tagline “Perfect Your Zakat”, the BTZ campaign, running from 15 June to 31 July, aims to educate the public on the exact amount of zakat to be paid.

The initiative also seeks to establish the habit of assessing zakat every June as an annual practice, ensuring that zakat obligations are not forgotten and are properly aligned with the wealth possessed, so that the act of worship can be performed perfectly.

Through the BTZ campaign, zakat payers who download the Zakat Selangor app, calculate their zakat, and make payment via various available channels will also have the opportunity to participate in the Jom Taksir Zakat contest and win attractive prizes.

The latest information about the BTZ campaign will be regularly updated on LZS’s official channels, including the portal jom.zakatselangor.com.my, Facebook, and Instagram @ZakatSelangor.

During the event, LZS also introduced a new facility for paying zakat in installments via direct debit from the payer’s bank account. This online service is a collaboration between LZS, Bank Islam Malaysia (BIMB), and InfaqPay as strategic partners.

With this facility, zakat payers can make installment payments directly from their bank accounts more easily by visiting zakatselangor.com.my/directdebit. Payers simply fill in the required information and can make monthly zakat payments without financial strain.
