SHAH ALAM, 4 December 2024 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) today launched the year-end campaign ‘Sama-Sama Kongsi’ as a call and encouragement for Muslims, especially in Selangor, to fulfill their zakat obligations before the end of 2024.
Through this year-end campaign, LZS urges eligible individuals to share their blessings through zakat and to work together to support the asnaf community in Selangor. This initiative aims to ensure that asnaf can continue to navigate current economic challenges and empower themselves and their families. To date, LZS has assisted more than 72,000 asnaf families, including the poor, needy, and converts in Selangor.
The launch ceremony was officiated by LZS Chief Operating Officer, Ahmad Fadhil Hassan.
In conjunction with the launch, LZS invited the public to participate in campaign initiatives encouraging zakat contributors with attractive prizes worth over RM60,000 under ‘Sama-Sama Kongsi’. The initiatives include:
i) Start With Sepuluh Campaign – open to zakat contributors, especially young people in higher education institutions (IPT), making zakat payments starting from RM10 through channels provided by LZS.
ii) Jom Auto Zakat Bulanan Campaign – open to individuals, traders, and companies who register for monthly zakat payments or increase their zakat contributions via Direct Debit and Salary Deduction Scheme.
iii) Early Bird Campaign – at 18 LZS branches from 1 to 6 December, specifically for the first 10 zakat contributors visiting LZS branches each day.
To facilitate Muslims in Selangor in fulfilling their zakat obligations, various payment options are provided. This includes 7-day weekly branch operations throughout December, online zakat payment channels such as the ZakatSelangor app, EZakatPay, internet banking, e-wallet apps, MYEG portal, and online post services.

During the same event, LZS also distributed RM5,820,008 in zakat aid in conjunction with the campaign launch.
From this amount, the Sumbangan Ithbat Hafazan received the largest allocation of RM3,566,800, while RM1,872,500 was distributed through the Program Sekolah Angkat Zakat Selangor (PROSAZ), benefiting 60 schools across Selangor. PROSAZ is a collaboration between LZS and the Selangor State Education Department (JPNS), focusing on children from poor and needy families through academic development activities in schools.
Meanwhile, three asnaf students received Higher Education Scholarship Aid totaling RM198,308 to pursue studies in higher education institutions, and RM140,800 was allocated for Prayer Hall Equipment and Renovation Aid.
In addition, LZS continues its commitment to helping individuals in need, with four recipients receiving aid worth RM41,000, covering monthly financial support, housing rental, and medical assistance. These contributions not only reflect LZS’s care but also embody the spirit of ‘Sama-Sama Kongsi’, ensuring that zakat distribution has a meaningful impact on the lives of asnaf.
Supporting the ‘Sama-Sama Kongsi’ campaign, two companies contributed zakat perniagaan to assist asnaf in Selangor: Infinity Gigabyte Sdn. Bhd. (RM5,000) and NZ Venture Logistic (M) Sdn. Bhd. (RM2,500).
Also present at the event were LZS Chief Corporate and Special Projects Officer, Ariffa Ariffin, and LZS Chief Financial Officer, Rapizah Muhammad Sharif.
