SHAH ALAM, 30 March 2022 – The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) today launched the Integrated Baitus Salam Module, officiated by the Chairman of the Baitus Salam Advisory Committee, Associate Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Farid Ravi Abdullah, in a ceremony held here.

The module, developed in collaboration with the Malaysia Zakat Research Institute (IkaZ) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), serves as a guide for LZS in mentoring and providing education to converts (mualaf) residing at Baitus Salam, supporting the sustainable understanding and practice of Islam among them.

It comprises four main modules that act as benchmarks to measure residents’ progress: the Knowledge Development Module, Self-Management Module, Leadership Module, and Career Skills Module. These modules are designed as a continuation of the modular education recommended in the Mualaf Education Plan to help converts become mukallaf (legally accountable in Islam).

For information, Baitus Salam is a shelter for mualaf managed by LZS, providing protection, welfare care, and basic religious guidance (fardu ain) to the residents. Since its establishment in 2016, 244 mualaf have lived at Baitus Salam and received guidance there.
