BANGI, 2 July 2024 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) today launched the cartoon book Sembang Zakat Series 1 in conjunction with the Muzakarah Zakat Nusantara (MZN) program held here.

The launch ceremony was officiated by Chairman of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS), Tan Sri Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, in front of 250 MZN participants.

The book is a compilation of zakat da’wah cartoons previously featured on LZS’s official social media. Using a lighthearted cartoon approach, LZS sees this method as an effective way to convey zakat messages to the community.

This approach is hoped to attract a wide audience, particularly the younger generation, to better understand and appreciate the concept and importance of zakat.

Besides the cartoon book launch, the MZN program also featured various presentations and discussions on current zakat issues at the regional level. The program was attended by zakat experts from multiple countries who shared their insights and experiences in strengthening zakat institutions.

LZS hopes that with the launch of this book and programs like MZN, public awareness and understanding of zakat will continue to grow, thereby assisting asnaf in need.

Also present at the program were Deputy Chairman of LZS, Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Ambrin Buang, Selangor Mufti, Dato’ Setia Profesor Madya Dr. Anhar Opir, and Chief Operations Officer of LZS, Ahmad Fadhil Hassan.
