LZS Hands Over Food & Beverage Pack Contributions to PKRC MAEPS and CAC Shah Alam

SERDANG, 9 August 2021 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) handed over food and beverage pack contributions worth RM60,000 to patients and frontline personnel at the Integrated COVID-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), as well as the COVID-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam.

The contribution involved 20,280 packets of biscuits and snacks, 9,600 bottles of mineral water, and 9,600 cartons of beverages for use at the respective PKRC and CAC facilities.

This contribution, funded under amil allocations, is part of the Zakat Selangor Peduli assistance initiatives announced on 2 July.

On 2 July, LZS announced an allocation of RM69.3 million to implement 19 Zakat Selangor Peduli assistance initiatives, benefiting 59,322 recipients and 431 institutions in Selangor.

From that total, RM1.0 million in amil funds was channeled to support the basic needs of frontline workers who are working tirelessly to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previously, LZS had distributed 2,000 food and beverage packs daily for 30 days to members of the public who came for health assessments at the COVID-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam.

Also present was the Chief Executive Officer of LZS, Saipolyazan M. Yusop.
