PUNCAK ALAM, 25 June 2021 – The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) has donated 20 wheelchairs to UiTM Hospital as part of its ongoing efforts to support major public institutions in the country in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
The wheelchairs were handed over by LZS Chief Executive Officer, Saipolyazan M. Yusop, to UiTM Hospital Director, Professor Dr. Sazzli Shahlan Kasim, at a ceremony held here today.
According to Saipolyazan, the donation is one of LZS’s initiatives to assist hospitals with critical needs at this time.
“These wheelchair donations are expected to support hospital facilities, especially for use by patients in various wards, particularly since UiTM Hospital has now been appointed as a mega Vaccination Center (PPV). We hope this contribution from LZS will help UiTM Hospital provide the best services to the community.”
Previously, UiTM Hospital also received RM50,000 from the LZS Patient Welfare Fund.
For information, UiTM Hospital is among 17 hospitals in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur that received a total of RM1,770,000 from the LZS Patient Welfare Fund. These contributions are part of LZS’s efforts to assist those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and ease the financial burden of hospital treatments.
Earlier, LZS also collaborated with the Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) to implement the Vaccine On The Go (VOTG) Squad program. Three LZS MPV vehicles were activated as VOTG Squad vehicles to transport healthcare workers to deliver vaccination services to 265 Elderly Care Centers and Persons with Disabilities (OKU) across Selangor starting 8 June 2021.
