BANGSAR, 18 March 2023 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) today assisted members of the Riong Bangsar Alumni Club (KARIB) who are in need, during the Tautan Kasih event held at the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) office in Bangsar.

At the event, LZS handed over food boxes containing dry goods to KARIB members in need, presented by Deputy Head of the Asnaf Distribution Operations Division, Md Yusmizan Yusuf. In addition, LZS approved assistance for three KARIB members who were registered as fakir and miskin asnaf in Selangor.

The event brought together 160 former editorial staff, including former group editors, senior editors, journalists, photographers, sub-editors, and graphic designers who had previously served at NSTP.

Also present were National Laureate Datuk Seri A Samad Said, National Journalist Figure Datuk A Kadir Jasin, former BH Group Editor Datuk Manja Ismail and Datuk Mahfar Ali, former HM Group Editor Datuk Mustapa Omar, Tuan Asri Tuan Hussein, legendary cartoonist Datuk Mohammad Nor Khalid (Datuk Lat), and BH Deputy Group Editor M Thilinadan.
