SHAH ALAM, 5 September 2023 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) has appointed a total of 1,878 Chief and Assistant Amil Kariah (PAK) across Selangor for the 2023-2025 session, serving as facilitators between LZS and the community, particularly LZS asnaf.
The symbolic appointment was officiated by LZS Trustee Member, Dato’ Setia Mohd Tamyes Abdul Wahid, during the Assistant Amil Kariah Induction Workshop held here today.
The two-day induction workshop was attended by 108 PAK from the Petaling district, covering 76 kariah mosques.
During the workshop, participants were provided with exposure and understanding of the PAK’s role in assisting LZS, especially in conducting investigations, surveys, and application reviews for asnaf fakir, miskin, mualaf, and gharimin. They were also briefed on the latest haddul kifayah calculation methods applied starting July this year.
PAK participants were also given briefings and training on operational procedures using the PAK Portal System. Through this workshop, LZS aims to develop a more efficient PAK management system and systematic workflow to better serve the asnaf across Selangor.
For information, a total of ten induction workshop series will be conducted in phases, starting from 10 June and expected to conclude on 24 September 2023.
During the event, LZS also presented Takaful Khairat Kematian (death benefit coverage) to six PAK heirs from the Petaling district, with each receiving contributions ranging from RM20,000 to RM22,000.
