SHAH ALAM, 28 March 2025 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) today announced the appointment of Mohd Khaidzir Shahari as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 7 April 2025.

Mohd Khaidzir’s appointment is to replace Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini, who will complete his three-year term as CEO of LZS on 31 March.

Mohd Khaidzir has over 25 years of experience in corporate governance, finance, risk management, compliance, internal control, and auditing. He was previously a partner and Executive Director at KPMG Malaysia and also led Governance, Risk, and Compliance at KPMG Management & Risk Consulting Sdn Bhd.

Throughout his career, Mohd Khaidzir has played a key role in internal control assessments, risk audits, and corporate governance structuring. He also has experience providing advisory and audit services to various entities, including multinational companies, publicly listed companies, government-linked companies (GLCs), government-linked investment companies (GLICs), financial institutions, and international agencies.

Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Honours) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Mohd Khaidzir is a chartered accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a certified member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). He is also a member of the MIA Islamic Finance Committee and, due to his expertise, has been entrusted as President of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia (IIAM).

Mohd Khaidzir’s appointment is expected to strengthen LZS’s management and operations, enhance corporate governance, ensure LZS remains competitive, and continue delivering the best services to the community in Selangor, particularly to the asnaf group (eligible zakat recipients).
