SHAH ALAM, 25 June 2021 – The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) has contributed RM1,770,000 to the LZS Patient Welfare Fund across 17 hospitals in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
The aid, in the form of grants provided since 2008, is part of LZS’s efforts to assist those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and to ease the financial burden of patients requiring hospital treatment.
Hospitals receiving the contributions include Hospital Kuala Lumpur, which received RM300,000, followed by the University of Malaya Medical Centre and the National University of Malaysia Medical Centre, each receiving RM200,000 in zakat contributions.
Meanwhile, Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang Hospital and the National Heart Institute Foundation (IJNF) each received RM150,000. Selayang Hospital, Sungai Buloh Hospital, Ampang Hospital, Serdang Hospital, and Kajang Hospital each received RM100,000.
Shah Alam Hospital, Putrajaya Hospital, UiTM Hospital, and Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital each received RM50,000 in zakat contributions, followed by the National Cancer Institute with RM30,000. Banting Hospital and Kuala Kubu Baharu Hospital received RM20,000 each.
