SHAH ALAM, 15 March 2024 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) has allocated RM1,495,000.00 to provide 10 hearse vans to selected mosques in Selangor during a Key Handover Ceremony officiated by the Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini, here today.
The contribution of hearse vans is one of the zakat assistance initiatives under asnaf fisabilillah, aimed at facilitating the management of funerals. It is allocated to mosques that do not have vehicles for funeral management, particularly in rural areas, and especially those with large congregations.
The hearse van contributions involve two mosques from the Petaling district, namely Masjid Al-Ikhlas, Seksyen 13 and Masjid Al-Amin, Seksyen 17; two mosques from Sabak Bernam district, namely Masjid Marzukiah, Kampung Lubuk Pusing and Masjid Baitul Rahman, Parit II, Sungai Nibong.
Meanwhile, two mosques from Hulu Selangor district also received contributions, namely Masjid Jamek Nurul Islamiah, Sg Choh Old and Masjid As Sajidin, Batang Kali. Two additional mosques from Klang district, namely Masjid Bukit Kapar 2, Kampung Bukit Kapar and Masjid Al Qayyum, Bandar Armada Putra, were also beneficiaries.
A mosque from Kuala Selangor district, Masjid Nurul Islam, Blok Y One, and a mosque from Hulu Langat district, Masjid At-Taqwa, Bandar Bukit Mahkota, also received hearse vans.
For your information, the provision of hearse vans is part of zakat contributions under the Religious Institution Development Program, which has been ongoing since 2013.
