SHAH ALAM, 21 July 2025 – Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) continues to strengthen its role in empowering zakat institutions by participating in the National Zakat Journey (KZK) 2025 Convoy, held from 15 to 18 July, organized by the Department of Wakaf, Zakat and Hajj (JAWHAR) in collaboration with the Johor State Islamic Religious Council (MAINJ).
Entering its 9th edition, the program serves as an important annual platform that unites JAWHAR, State Islamic Religious Councils, and zakat management agencies nationwide to strengthen strategic cooperation networks and share experiences.
The convoy involved 200 participants and 60 vehicles, demonstrating close collaboration between the Federal Government and State Governments in empowering zakat institutions in Malaysia.
This year, MAINJ, as the host, brought over 200 participants from various agencies with 60 vehicles, traveling through two main districts, Pontian and Batu Pahat, to reach out to asnaf through various welfare and development programs.
To support the program, LZS contributed RM6,000 for sub-programs under permanent project development as part of KZK 2025.
Through this strategic collaboration, KZK 2025 sends a clear message to the public that zakat is not merely an obligation but a shared trust in the development of the ummah in Selangor and across the country.
