SHAH ALAM, 13 March 2024 – His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, graciously received zakat perniagaan totaling RM10,790,760.00 from four corporate companies during a zakat handover program held in conjunction with the “DYMM Sultan of Selangor Breaking Fast with the People” event here today.

Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad and its subsidiaries led the list by contributing zakat perniagaan of RM5,057,000.00, represented by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Fariz Hasaan. This was followed by Kumpulan Worldwide Holdings Berhad, represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria, contributing RM2,820,000.00 in zakat perniagaan.

Meanwhile, the Selangor State Development Corporation (Pemerbadanan), through its Chief Executive Officer, Saipolyazan Md. Yusop, contributed RM1,913,760.00, and the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS), represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi, contributed RM1,000,000.00 in zakat perniagaan.

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor also graciously distributed Hari Raya contributions to 118 asnaf fakir, 237 asnaf miskin, and 75 asnaf mualaf, totaling RM215,000.00, with each recipient receiving RM500.

During the same event, His Royal Highness also signed the Pearl Jubilee plaque in conjunction with the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS).

Also present were the Chairman of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS), Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof; the Selangor State Mufti, Dato’ Setia Dr. Anhar Opir; Chairman of LZS, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Jamalullail; Deputy Chairman of LZS, Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Ambrin Buang; and the Chief Executive Officer of LZS, Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini.
