SHAH ALAM, 16 April 2020 – His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, consented to receive business zakat amounting to RM37,442,513.97 from two corporate companies during a zakat handover ceremony held in conjunction with the DYMM Sultan of Selangor’s breaking of fast event today.

The list was led by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), which contributed RM27,712,316.97 in business zakat, represented by the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Nik Mohd Hasyudeen Yusoff, for the 2020 financial year.

Meanwhile, the National Water Services Commission (SPAN), represented by its Chairman, Wan Hassan Mohamed Ramli, contributed RM9,730,197.00 in business zakat for the 2020 financial year.

Also present at the event were Chairman of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS), Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, and Chairman of the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS), Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Jamalullail, along with LZS Chief Executive Officer, Saipolyazan M. Yusop.
