At Bait Al-Mawaddah Elderly Care Centre, efforts to slow the progression of dementia are carried out through a holistic intervention programme that emphasises cognitive training, meaningful social interaction and daily mind-stimulating activities. The primary objective is to preserve cognitive function while enhancing the overall quality of life of residents under care.
Stories such as that of Pak Cik Ahmat illustrate the impact of this approach. After three months in the programme, he demonstrated noticeable improvements, becoming more focused during conversations and showing better emotional regulation. These are clear indicators of positive cognitive and behavioural outcomes.
Throughout 2024, 100% from the five residents under continuous monitoring successfully maintained cognitive stability, while four new dementia cases were identified early, allowing for timely intervention and care planning.
These outcomes are driven by several key factors: well-trained and dedicated staff, strong support from caregivers and fellow residents, and the consistent implementation of structured therapeutic activities.
Bait Al-Mawaddah stands as a testament to the belief that with compassion, professionalism and sustained care, the elderly can live not only with dignity, but with a sense of belonging; cherished, respected and supported at every stage of life.
