HULU LANGAT, 9 February 2022 – The Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS), together with the Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN), today handed over 38 smartphones to asnaf students in Orang Asli villages in Hulu Langat as part of the Kasihku Zakat Selangor program.

The distribution benefited 38 asnaf students from Kampung Orang Asli Dong Lai, Kampung Orang Asli Pangsun, Kampung Orang Asli Paya Lembar, and Kampung Orang Asli Gaba, involving zakat funds from PTPTN totaling RM20,000.

The smartphones aim to facilitate these students’ participation in home-based learning (PdPR) and enable easier communication with their school teachers.

This initiative also serves as a dakwah channel to attract interest among those who have yet to embrace Islam in these villages. The contribution is expected to benefit the community, particularly in supporting the education of Orang Asli asnaf children.

Present at the program were Rohaida Deris, General Manager of PTPTN Selangor, and Khairul Azhan Ahmat, Head of Muzakki Department, LZS.
