SHAH ALAM, 20 August 2023 – A total of 300 participants successfully completed the CEO Run organized by Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) in conjunction with Shah Alam Car-Free Day here today.

The event, which began at 7:30 a.m., involved 60 zakat-contributing companies, including Chief Executive Officers, senior management, and staff, running a distance of 4km.

According to LZS Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini, the CEO Run is part of the customer loyalty program involving Chief Executive Officers and their staff under the Muzakki Circle Program, which brings together muzakki to join LZS, particularly in supporting the asnaf in Selangor.

“Besides raising awareness of zakat and fostering good relationships among muzakki, the second edition of the CEO Run provides an opportunity for muzakki to support asnaf by channeling all participation fees to the Pulau Indah Orphanage Complex through the Darul Ehsan Islamic Foundation (YIDE).”

Meanwhile, during the same program, LZS received business zakat from three companies totaling RM2,899,939.00. Mohamed Nazir bin Meraslam Group contributed RM2,198,000.00, followed by MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad with RM450,000.00, and Felda Global Ventures (FGV) Group contributing RM251,939.00.

In addition, two individuals and institutions received zakat distribution totaling RM191,000.00. They were Adnan Duamin, who received RM126,000.00 for new house construction, and Muhamad Zamri Maimun, who received RM15,000.00 for house rent and monthly financial assistance. Both are registered asnaf fakir and miskin with LZS. Additionally, LZS provided RM50,000.00 for school repairs to KAFA Integrasi At-Taufiqiah.

Also present at the event was LZS Trustee Member, Dato’ Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdullah.
