KUALA SELANGOR, 23 April 2021 – This Syawal is especially meaningful for 13 fakir and poor asnaf families in Kuala Selangor district, who received new homes from the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) with a total value of RM1,209,000.00, presented during a handover ceremony held here.
Each family received a three-bedroom house measuring 800 square feet, complete with electricity and water facilities, valued between RM86,000 and RM90,000 per unit, built on land provided by the Selangor State Government.
For information, the housing assistance program is one of the forms of aid provided by LZS to meet the basic needs of fakir and poor asnaf in Selangor, enabling them to enjoy a more comfortable and quality life.
Priority for this assistance is given to asnaf whose homes were destroyed by fire or disasters, are dilapidated to the point of affecting residents’ safety, or families with many dependents.
Since 2010, a total of 2,283 houses have been handed over to fakir, poor, and mualaf asnaf, with a total zakat allocation of RM99.9 million. In addition, LZS has also provided home repair assistance for 3,602 houses since 2010, with a total zakat allocation of RM57.35 million.
Also present at the ceremony were Selangor Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Kuala Selangor District Chief, Dato’ Muhamad Yaacob Dato’ Ismail, Kuala Selangor District Officer, Mohd Faizal Abdul Raji, and Chief Executive Officer of the Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated, Norita Mohd Sidek, along with LZS Chief Executive Officer, Saipolyazan M. Yusop.
